Good Omens Fan Club

It’s what we all want, really.

They’re all a bunch of nerds.

A bunch of nerds who enjoy shipping but are going to have to wait patiently to see what the mighty Neil Gaiman has in store for the next season.

Also, I have decided to make Cordelia into cosplaying, because look how adorable she is in that little Aziraphale outfit.  Does she not pull it off?

Crap – now I need to draw her in more outfits.

Good Omens 2 is a GO

Can I get a “Wahoo?”

With the announcement of Good Omens Season 2, my Instagram explore page has gone from being split relatively evenly between everything to GOOD OMENS GOOD OMENS THE CLOWNERY IS OVER.

So why not add to that?  Because it is indeed pretty exciting news.  I didn’t think it would actually happen, considering the first season pretty much covered the entire book.  However, a quick jaunt over to Neil Gaiman’s blog revealed that he and Terry Pratchett had actually planned out a sequel, so there is stuff to pull from.  Which makes me even more excited, and a little sad that there wasn’t a GO book sequel, especially with the passing of Terry Pratchett.  But hey!  I’ll take a televised sequel.

Also, it just feels right to have Dot be a GO fangirl, considering the one time I heard Neil Gaiman speak in person at the DC Book Festival and the crowd was pretty much decked out in black.  It was a pretty gloomy day, too.  All appropriate for Dot here.

Also also – I don’t know why I drew a car.  Crowley’s Bentley is pretty important to the story, but still, I didn’t have to draw it.

Reviews

Truly, the scum of the earth.

This really is one of my pet peeves.

It’s one thing to see a trailer, or read a synopsis, and think, “Yeah, that’s not my cup of tea.  Won’t even bother.”  Or to read the reviews and think, “Ech, perhaps I won’t be seeing that.”

It is another thing entirely to post a bad review for something that you haven’t even experienced.

I see it a lot, especially for certain video games (POKEMON POKEMON POKEMON).  People review-bombing something, giving them negative scores because they think it looks bad.  But that’s not an actual review.  That’s just someone jumping the gun and wanting to drive the score down.  It’s pretty much a useless comment.

If you disagree with a movie/book/whatever and don’t want to watch/read/whatever it, that’s fine.  You are free to comment or discuss why.  But don’t leave a bad review on it.  Leave that to someone who’s actually watched the damned thing.

Cicada to the Face

The birdbath might not be the best hiding place.  I’ve seen what the doves do in it…

Don’t worry, Dot.  Pretty sure that the cicadas are all starting to die out, judging by the massive pile of dead bugs on our porch.  And they have gotten quieter – haven’t been hearing that low alien drone as much recently.  So it might be the start of the end.

Is it weird that I’m gonna kind of miss them?  I dunno.  Circle of life, I suppose.

Cicadas

Probably the furthest that cicada’s flown.

After 17 years (I was 12 the last time they came around – good GOD), the cicadas have indeed arisen.  And they are indeed kind of freaky looking.

Not necessarily the hell spawn that Dot’s picturing them as, but still.  Weird little buggers.  Half the time I’m not sure if they’re dead or alive.  A quick nudge usually helps to tell if they are.  It also helps to flip them over, as they seem to struggle with that.

They seem to struggle in general, honestly.

I can relate.

Here’s to you, you freaky little bugs.  Make some noise.  Shed some skin.  Do your cicada thing.

Eating

…yep, that’s pretty much it.

This is what happens when you run out of ideas and begin to wonder how these guys eat.

Dot has a mouth – it’s just hidden in the dark behind her fang-mandible things.

And I’m pretty sure that that’s not how gas masks work.  But then again, it’s Quincy.  Normal rules do not apply here.

Doctor Dot: Vaccinations

You heard the lady. Do it for the sticker.

I am actually not sure if they hand out stickers when you get your second shot, but if they do, then hey – free sticker.

Got my first shot this past Friday.  Have to wait until the end of the month to get my second dose.  But it feels good to at least be on the way to be fully vaccinated and have one less thing to worry (less) about.

Does this mean I’m whipping off the mask and licking doorknobs?  No.  But contributing to herd immunity takes the edge off a bit.
