So, one of the prompts from Mermay this year was Heartbreak. And for some reason, I latched onto it. And here we are. Also, I’d imagine that there is a very, very, very short list of people who Poe would openly cry in front of. It’s like, Octavian and Clark, seen here crying along because he’s… Continue reading Mermay Heartbreak
Doodcember 2022 – Mermaid It Myself
Anemone was worried that Poe wouldn’t like her gift – maybe think it was too soft or something. She clearly had nothing to worry about.
Just felt like drawing some hugs this weekend. We could all use one, right? I mean, if you like hugs. If not, we can always fist bump.
Lots More Screaming
It’s been a week. A long, frustrating, draining, emotions-running-around-in-circles, week. A week where you could stand on a cliffside and scream into the void whilst confusing some mermaids.
Mermay: Deep Water Friends
An interesting duo of merpeople – Isadora the Dumbo Octopus mermaid and Calder the Vampire Squid merman! Side note: I kept wanting to name this mermaid Daphne, but I already have a Daphne in the comic – who is, ironically, a Dumbo Octopus.
…am I about to post 3 times in a week? Something I haven’t done in months? What black magic is this? In all seriousness, I have been on a drawing streak as of late. Hopefully I can keep it up. We’ll see! Also, Poe is a menace. Sorry, Lars.
Mermay: Just Breathe
Hey look, it’s Octavian, who I drew like, 3 times 2 years ago! And yes, I did forget how to draw him. So I decided to draw him 6 times in a row. Because of course.
Mantis Shrimp Merman
Oh yeah, Mermay is a thing. Please accept this mantis shrimp merman as a humble offering for this month. …his name is Poe.
See, without his seal skin on, Selkie Boy doesn’t seem like a Silver. He looks more like something else. Roan…? You know what, I’m gonna stick with that. His name’s Roan now. Silver’s just Clark’s nickname for him. Also I want to stop drawing rocks instead of backgrounds for the Mermay drawings, but that would… Continue reading Selkie Boy
The Walrus and the Selkie
Eyyy, it’s my Walrus Merman, Clark! And he has a friend! I’ve been wanting to draw a selkie (basically seal people that can turn into a human by shedding their seal skin) for a while now, and Mermay seemed to be the perfect opportunity for that. I’m…not a hundred percent sold on the name, but… Continue reading The Walrus and the Selkie
